Come to the PSC hearing on solar Oct 6 in Jackson
Mississippi is on the cusp of adopting pro-solar policies thanks to people like you. Nearly 500 Mississippi Sierra Club members and supporters, along with thousands of others, sent in official public comments to the Public Service Commission (PSC) demanding a net metering policy that would help bring more solar to our state and our rooftops.
A written comment is one thing, but in a few weeks we have a chance to deliver our support for solar and net metering in person at a PSC meeting in Jackson on October 6.
Mississippi is one of only six states that has no rules for net metering. Net metering incentivizes homeowners, businesses and equipment leasers to install rooftop solar and send their excess solar-generated electricity back to the electric grid. In other words, customers like you and me will not only save on our own electric bill but can also become energy suppliers and receive credit for the clean power we create.
